God Speaks Through His Word

I have stored up your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you.
Psalm 119:11 (ESV)

Work on storing up the following verses in your heart. Start with 1 or 2, then add verses as you feel comfortable with those. For memorization strategies, see the Resources page.

In the scriptures below I have included something called Make It Personal. Many times based on the true character of God, I know I can take promises God made to others and apply them to my life. How can I do that? Because through repeated study of the Bible, I’ve learned God’s character never changes. Since I know God is loving and I’ve read repeatedly how he provides and cares for people in the Bible, I can know with certainty he can be trusted to provide and care for me.

By making Bible verses more personal (paraphrasing them), they are easier for me to remember and store in my heart. Feel free to memorize either the actual scripture or Make It Personal for you – just promise to store these truths in your heart.

How has scripture helped you in times of trouble? What’s your favorite scripture?
